UI System Overview

The Yosemite Crew (YC) UI platform is a production-grade, agent-friendly design system covering the web app (apps/frontend) and mobile app (apps/mobileAppYC).

This page is the entry point: it shows how the pieces fit together and where each thing lives. From here, see Design Tokens for the shared visual values, the Component Taxonomy for how components are classified, the Contribution Guide for how to add or change UI, and the Validation Matrix for the quality bar each component must clear.

Design decisions

DecisionRationale
Shared tokens, separate implementationsWeb and mobile share semantic meaning but not rendering. Liquid-glass (the translucent iOS-style surface treatment) stays mobile-only.
Storybook for web, Docusaurus for docsStorybook is the component workbench. Docusaurus is for architecture, governance, and contribution guides.
Satoshi body + Newsreader display--font-grotesk aliases are fully removed. --font-satoshi is the body/UI font; --font-newsreader (Newsreader) is the display serif for page titles and marketing moments.
Bootstrap is goneRemoval is finished. No react-bootstrap consumer remains in apps/frontend/src and layout.tsx loads no Bootstrap CSS. Do not reintroduce it.
No shadcn / Radix / MUIThe design system is custom-built on Tailwind CSS 4. Do not import new component libraries.
